Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections

Southern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine offers Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. We offer these injections for $250 per joint. The injection will be given to the patient only upon the physician’s recommendation during a consultation. An initial consultation is required, where the physician can evaluate your current pain and make the decision of whether to proceed with the injection.

HOW DOES PRP WORK?

PRP injections are non-surgical treatment options that have the potential to speed up the healing process of an injury site, but the effectiveness of PRP therapy can vary. There are various reasons that can affect the effectiveness, as the type of injury, area of the body treated and the overall health of a patient.

The provider will first draw the patient’s blood. The blood is placed in a centrifuge, which spins and separates the platelets from the rest of the blood components. The platelet-rich plasma is then injected in the affected area.
