Southern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practices with an emphasis in four specialties:

  • Orthopedic Surgery – the branch of surgery that provides medical care, both surgical and non-surgical, to the musculoskeletal system
  • Sports Medicine – the branch of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of injuries related to physical activity, and the wear and tear on the body due to participation in physical activities
  • Arthroscopic Surgery – the type of surgery that utilizes an arthroscope to examine and repair damage to interior joints, ultimately providing a minimally invasive solution to injuries and conditions that once required much more invasive surgical procedures
  • Joint Replacement – the surgical procedure that replaces arthritic or dysfunctional joints with functional joints; in some cases the procedure involves realignment or remodeling techniques to repair the damaged joint
